Back at it after a few days in Chicago. We have 3 events happening this week. The 4 day Pickelsburgh event happens in downtown Pittsburgh. We will be at PPG Plaza. The next concert in the summer series happens in Cranberry and we head to Altoona for Wheels on the Field, a huge car show event. Big thanks to everyone on our event team for making it all happen.https://pierceevents.net

Focus on one thing at a time…Two years ago, we hosted a 60-person event on a helicopter pad overlooking the city of Los Angeles. It was one of the coolest things I have ever done.Alexander Sasha Solonin, my co-founder, and I were overlooking the view after the event, asking each other, "How are we ever going to beat this event?"What we concluded was that, no matter what, we have to always focus on one event at a time. How can we make each event better than the last? Two years later, we find ourselves on the BIGGEST rooftop in North America, right across the street with 450 people. As I look back now, I see how crazy hectic the journey has been.Along the way, we had events where only one person showed up.But we stayed consistent and treated that one person with the same energy we would treat a thousand. The journey has just begun...Motion LA TO THE MOON 🚀 #journey #entrepeneur #eventmarketing #event #marketing #experientialmarketing #experience #motionla

My love for the great outdoors is well-documented. It’s a pretty good thing really, as I spend so much time in fields over the summer months, I’d be screwed if I didn’t like fresh air and being outside. A bit of mud and rain has never phased me but for some organisers, as extreme weather events increase in frequency, there is a greater desire to mitigate risks and reduce spend on trackway and wood chippings. This is just one of the many reasons why promoter James Dean has chosen to host his new event series at North 5, one of the NEC's car parks. Even the venue’s new business director Richard Mann would tell you that it’s not an obvious choice for a festival, but the The NEC, Birmingham is trying to change people’s perception of the venue and push its outdoor spaces as an option. If you turn to page 40 of the latest edition of StandOut Magazine (Stand Out Live Events Magazine), you can read our interview with James and Richard, just one of many candid chats in the March 2024 edition. Katie Vine – the new managing director at Engine No 4 – is also in the spotlight this month, as she talks about the first three months in her new role. She reveals her plans for the event production specialist and why it’s important to learn the rhythm of a business before you make any changes. Both Katie and James talk openly about event life, but they are not the only two events professionals to have an opinion this month. We also chat with key people behind the MOBOs and MOBO Awards Sheffield – The Fringe and we delve into the world of Christmas events, temporary water supply, and visually spectacular events. Pop the kettle on and turn to page 23 (link to the latest issue is in the comments) if you want to read how a fully digital court is set to change the way fans experience sporting events and what factors organisers need to consider when looking to “wow” audiences. As always, please let me and the team know what you’re working on. The team and I would love to come and see you on-site this summer. I’ll bring the biscuits if you promise to make a brew. You'll see from my previous posts how much the team and I love to get out and about. You really do get to the heart of a story if you can breathe the same air of those on an event or festival site.Every month, many hours go into producing the stories that we think should be shared. Before an article is even written, there are many hours of research, travel, and talking (I'm good at that) and then there's a lengthy process afterwards to gather more facts and images.Putting a magazine together takes #TeamWork and a whole heap of help from a merry band of PR professionals that help people like me to do my job... so I wanted to say thank you to Melanie Jones Encore PR Peter Hodges Connor K. Rob Chadwick JUKEBOX PR LIMITED Louise Carney Clair Whitecross Michelle Tayton Hannah Pascoe Graham Brown Brown Fox Comms SUNDAE PR LIMITED Turn the Tables PR + comms Rupert Janisch for your help with the latest edition of StandOut Magazine (Stand Out Live Events Magazine)Please have a read #Eventprofs – there are some bangin' stories, even if I say so myself. And what's more, there's more to come in a couple of weeks' time. Make sure you sign up to receive the mag (it's free so why wouldn't you) and go and make yourself a brew. Happy reading and catch you soon. #StandOut #BehindTheScenes #EventsMag #EventOperations

While we think that all of the events that we are a part of are magical, they of course, don’t just happen by magic! We’ve been laying out the last steps that we take in the short few weeks leading up to an event. Last time we touched on the importance of our set up plan and timeline document, and today we’re chatting with you about bringing our plans together and discussing as a team!As a small team, we are often working on a variety of different events at once. So, while we are usually working together to plan an event, we are likely working on separate elements of it. That’s why it’s so important for us to come together pre-event and go through our set up plan and event timeline to ensure all aspects of the event are covered. To put it in perspective, there are some events where one of us is solely handling communication with our client and the venue, while the others are handling communication and logistics with decor vendors and performers! Including each other in our pre-event plans means that before event day, we are all event experts and can handle questions from any aspect of the event if needed. We all know that communication with your team is important, and for us it’s absolutely crucial to ensuring the event is executed with little to no surprises. #makingmagicmondays #eventplanning #edmontonevents #calgaryevents #albertaeventplanners

Do you have anything coming up that warrants a celebration with your team? Maybe it’s a holiday or a major achievement. Maybe one of your employees is having a baby or getting married. Maybe you’re just really proud of how your employees delivered results this quarter. Whatever it is, it’s time to celebrate! Here are 6 things to consider:1. Know your team. 💭 A very large company will celebrate differently than a small startup. And if you work in a formal corporate environment, your celebrations will look different from those of a more casual company. Take some time to figure out what your employees want and what they expect. The best way to do this? Ask!2. Consider timing. 🗓️ If you know your employees are busiest at the end of the month, then a Halloween party taking up half the day may not be the best decision. You never want your employees to feel overwhelmed when celebrating something. Plan around your employees’ schedules and do your best to never take away time from their families.3. Have a plan and a budget.💸 Team building activities and fun cultural celebrations may not seem like something that requires much thought or approval. But, if you truly want to impact your company culture through activities and celebrations, then it’s time to set a budget and make a plan. If it’s feasible for your company to plan out the entire year, it’s a simple one-time task that can serve as a guide for the entire year. If that’s not possible for your team, consider planning it out each month and budgeting for what you’ll need. This will keep you from going overboard in the beginning of the year and having no funds left over for a Christmas party.4. Switch it up.🔃 A simple team lunch may be exactly what your team needs to celebrate a minor achievement, and this can certainly serve as a fun surprise. But when it comes to major holidays or major milestones, it’s time to give your employees a little more. Never bore them and always show them how valued they are by celebrating with them.5. Dare to be Different.🤩 If you believe your team is unlike any others out there, then they deserve a celebration unlike any out there. Do something fun and unique, and consider moving off site for this.6. Come to Autobahn!🏎️ We take pride in our corporate team building events, and we’ll give you everything you need to make your employees feel valued and celebrated!
